Buying a barcode printer

Are you buying a barcode printer and really not sure which model will suite your application and budget?

Lets look at the different models and their specifications to help you better understand which one will work for you.

Points to consider when looking at buying a barcode printer are:

  • How many labels will I be printing in one day – roughly
  • Will the printed labels need to last for months and will they be subjected to heat, moisture etc. Thermal Transfer using ribbon for durable labels or Direct Thermal for labels that do not need to last longer than 6 months.
  • In what environment will the printers be used – Office, Retail, Logistics, Manufacturing etc
  • How to you want to connect to the printer – USB, Serial, LAN, Bluetooth, WiFi or Parallel.
  • The width and length of the labels you want to print and how fast the printers can print these labels.
  • The manufacturers warranty period.

  • The printer comes standard with a 12 month carry in manufacturers warranty.

Argox D4-250 – Direct Thermal 4″ Barcode Label Printer. Its specifications as follows:

Argox O4-250 – General purpose 4″ Barcode Label Printer. Its specifications as follows:
